November Food Log

Content Warning: Meat, Chicken, Seafood

Hey, guys! I’m sorry there were no blog posts in November. I spent a lot of time working on the website layout (I hope you like it!) and some new pages, such as Sanrio Pixel Art and the Favourites section. I must also admit that I received some really nice feedback from my recent posts, especially My Thoughts on Indie Web and Web Revival. I tried countless times to write another post like that one, but nothing quite came together. Then, I realised I had completely lost sight of my original purpose: seeking fun, not views. Funny, isn’t it?

My husband and I are big foodies. We love trying out new dishes, new restaurants, new recipes, etc. He introduced me to some Michelin Guide restaurants (I haven’t tried anything with a star yet, but I really want to!).

I took some pictures of our most outstanding meals.

The cover picture is “Brazilian sushi” (I know it’s weird, but it’s good, I promise). Brazilians are obsessed with salmon, so it’s usually the only fish option (sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can get tuna). And, of course, loads of cream cheese. A bit too much for my taste, but at least it’s way better than avocado (unfortunately, almost all sushi places here include avocado in everything). Don’t get me wrong, I like avocado, but not in sushi. lol

White Tea and Mocha

I’m a tea person and hubby is a coffee person. My choice was cherry-flavoured white tea. It reminded me of White Kiss, a blend of white tea and strawberries I used to drink a lot in Brazil. His choice was mocha. (:

Bibimbap and Kimchi

Bibimbap is one of my favourite meals ever. I love gochujang sauce and it gets extra special when it’s full of mushrooms like this one. That one was a bit too greasy, as you can tell by the chopsticks (I was just mixing the ingredients), but I must admit that’s why it was so tasty.

Seafood Ramen

I’m not usually a ramen person, because, in my mind, it’s only pricey noodles. I must say, however, it does not apply to seafood ramen. That one in particular was to die for.

Bread, Nutella, Raspberries and Blueberries

My fave sweet snack: toasted bread, Nutella, and some berries. How could it go wrong? By the way, one of the reasons I LOVE living here is that I can buy raspberries and blueberries without breaking the bank!

Ham and Mushrooms and Pepperoni Pizza

That was the best pizza I have ever tried! Mine was good, but hubby’s pizza was exceptional. It had so many taste layers that I didn’t know it was possible in pizza.

Enoki Mushrooms

Speaking of taste layers… Those mushrooms were so flavourful yet so delicate. The texture was “al dente but still melts in your mouth”. It was spicy, but not to the point it burned your tongue. It’s definitely the best side dish I ever had.

Korean Style Chicken

Last, but not least… I cook a lot at home, but my dishes aren’t exactly picture material. That chicken, though, was one of my best creations. The sauce consisted of gochujang, soy sauce, ginger powder, garlic purée, and a bit of honey. I also added a tiny bit of barbecue sauce from a past takeaway, but just because it was sitting on my fridge almost expriring.

Well, let’s pray I won’t have creative blocks anymore! I hope you liked this post. (:

  1. Your website layout is looking great! And so do the food pictures by the way! Oh how I love sushi and especially salmon. *-* All the dishes you posted look delicious.

Cherry-flavored white tea sounds very nice, too. I would try that if I find it in the store some time. I usually prefer Ceylon/Black/English tea.

I’ve never had Korean food before. I hope to try that one day. ^^

    1. Hey Mari, thanks for stopping by! White tea is a bit hard to find compared to other options, but it’s totally worth it! And it’s caffeine-free (:

Well, if you enjoy spicy food, I think you’ll like Korean food. It’s not always spicy, but their best dishes usually have some.

  2. 1. Thank you, Luvstar! 😀 My initial plan was to put one sidebar on the left and one on the right, but put them next to each other on the mobile version. I really liked the sidebars next to each other, so I ended up using them on the desktop as well.
